Location In the northeast of Mallorca, in the municipality of Son Servera, is the village of the same name, in an area known as Llevant. According to tradition, the village dates back to the 13th century, and some believe it was named after the deer that are said to have once roamed the area.
A bypass road has recently been built - in the past those who wanted to go to the beach drove straight through Son Servera - these days fewer visitors get to see this small town, except perhaps on Friday mornings when the weekly market is held.
Golfers are sure to think of the local golf course when they hear the name of this town: Son Servera Golf is the second oldest golf course in Mallorca and was opened in the 1960s as a 9-hole course, but was expanded to 18 holes in 2012. Other golf courses in Canyamel and Capdepera are easily accessible from here.
The municipality of Son Servera also includes the popular holiday resort of Cala Millor with its long sandy beach, which lies between the smaller holiday resort of Cala Bona and the nature reserve of Sa Punta de n'Amer. Cala Millor's Sa Màniga Auditorium is the scene of many cultural events, such as ballet, theater and concerts.
