Location The picturesque village of Aguamansa belongs to the municipality of La Orotava and is situated on a hill at an altitude of 1000 metres. Aguamansa is the last village before the Teide and thus an ideal starting point for nature lovers.
The Orotava Valley is very popular with nature lovers and hikers. Alexander von Humboldt was already drawn there in his time. The Humboldt Viewpoint, 300 metres above sea level, offers a magnificent view of the coast, the whole of Puerto de la Cruz and the majestic Teide.
The dense pine forest, with its permanent greenness and the multitude of eucalyptus trees, which originally came from Australia, thrive in the climate and in the trade winds. Chestnut trees are very popular with the locals and can be found everywhere. The aromatic herbs growing everywhere in the woods must not be picked because it is a nature reserve. In the colder months, such as January and February, the area can experience heavy rainfall.
Winter temperatures are around 14°C during the day and 6°C at night, while in summer they are around 22°C during the day (sometimes a little higher) and 16°C at night.
The access road TF-21 takes you from La Orotava to the village in about 15 minutes. You can also take the 345 for a leisurely drive up to Aguamansa.
