Welcome to Freifrau von Wechmar - Tenerife Real Estate
The unique mild, even climate with pleasantly warm temperatures all year round, which hardly rise above 30°C even in summer and a pleasant 20-25°C in winter, make Tenerife a particularly liveable place. You can always explore the Canary Island's magnificent multifaceted natural landscapes at length: in one day, for example, you could climb Spain's highest mountain, explore a bizarre volcanic landscape, go on a hike through the beautiful pine forests, swim on one of the lovely beaches or watch whales and dolphins off the southwest coast. Due to the topography, the island is excellent for nature lovers, hikers, ambitious cyclists or as a general training area. There are a total of 8 golf courses nestled in wonderful landscapes where golf can be played 365 days a year. The sports infrastructure is excellent, with a large number of public sports centres (combination of gym and indoor swimming pool, some with wellness facilities) in almost every major town, or freely accessible hotel spas (e.g. La Quinta Spa in St. Ursula). Tenerife has excellent tourist facilities, an outstanding infrastructure and a wide variety of typical and exquisite gastronomy. Many villages have preserved their traditional cosy character and have a beautiful historic centre, such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site La Laguna, with a town layout almost completely preserved since the 15th century, Guia de Isora, La Orotava, or Icod de los Vinos with its over 1000-year-old dragon tree, another landmark of the island. Another cultural highlight in many places is the Tenerife Carnival in February. With the Loro Parque, Puerto de la Cruz offers the best zoo in Europe and the second best in the world, with e.g. the world's largest realistic replica of Antarctica, an impressive shark tunnel and the world's most innovative and modern facility for orcas including 3 daily shows.
1. The El Teide National Park as UNESCO World Natural Heritage offers with the Teide the third highest volcano on earth, with 3718 m height the highest peak in Spain and with the Las Canadas a caldera with 17km diameter, which itself is already above 2000m, a great bizarre crater and volcano landscape with an excellent marked hiking trail network.
2. Hiking on the island of eternal spring is possible all year round and is always a special experience, because the island offers such a variety of contrasting vegetation and landscapes in such a small area as no other island archipelago in the world. There are 32 different climatic zones here alone, which are partly responsible for these different natural experiences, from steep coastal sections in the north, to extensive forests on the slopes northeast of Mount Teide, to the deep gorges of the Teno Mountains in the west. Tenerife offers a multitude of varied hikes and designated mountain bike trails of all levels of difficulty in a diversity that is second to none. In addition to the Teide National Park, which in places resembles a gigantic lunar landscape, there are other unique volcanic landscapes scattered around the island and, with the Teno Mountains in the west and the Anaga Mountains in the east, two further varied natural experiences.
3. All kinds of water sports can be practised on an island. Swimming or bathing on the beaches, which are mostly made of volcanic sand or the most beautiful sandy beach Las Teresitas in San Andrés is an experience in itself. The Atlantic Ocean offers some interesting surfing spots, as there is always a wind blowing, and also diving spots for divers. From some of the island's marinas, deep-sea fishing tours can be undertaken, and the southwest is the ideal place to observe whales and dolphins in the wild. Tenerife offers the best water park in the world with the Siam Park in the south or the Lago Martiánez in Puerto de la Cruz, a beautifully designed sea swimming pool or the Aqualand Costa Adeje.
